We (my fiancé, children, and I) are dedicated to providing
forever homes for rats as well as information on the care of rats. Our
rats are not used nor will be adopted for medical testing or feeders.
(Food for snakes, etc.)
We got our name "Rat Finx" from a favorite rat of my mother.
She still says she misses him. I also have a favorite rat that I
miss. His name was Winchester, and he was my first rat. I
will never forget the day my Mom walked in with him riding happily on
her shoulder, then she said he was mine. His favorite pastime was
riding on my shoulder while I cleaned house. He lived for 3 years.
Rats are not with us very long, 2 to 4 years if you're lucky.
We believe that they deserve the best life possible. Many people have
not been educated on rats and think that they are filthy disease ridden
animal. Truth is that domesticated rats are very smart, love
attention, take basic care, and are clean freaks. They hate to be
dirty. The public needs to realize that we don't go into the
forest or sewers and capture wild rats. They are domesticated and
crave our attention just like dogs and cats. They are tamed easily
and want our attention and out of cage time.
We do realize that not everybody likes rats, for instance, I DO NOT
LIKE SPIDERS OF ANY KIND. I know that there are "spider" people
out there who would argue with me that they make great pets, but rats
are our passion.
I do have many other animals that I have adopted, which makes it even
more urgent that the rats for adoption find forever homes.
I have 2 cats, Rusty Joe & Cameo, 2 chinchillas, Miko & Rio, 2 sugar
gliders, Honey & Karo, 2 hairless rats, Bret & Adrian (Bret weighs about
2 pounds, tell me he's not spoiled) 3 haired females, Kristine, Kari &
Mariposa. We believe that Mariposa was neglected, and actually bit
3 people at the pet store, so no one wanted her. Within a week,
she has made great progress, and has NEVER bit me and is getting to like
out of cage time with the other girls.
Please see our gallery'o'animals.
We believe that the babies will be great additions to a loving
family. Mom and Dad love people and are very calm. I believe that
the babies will have great demeanors We have handled them every
day since the day they were born. This will make it easier to hand
tame them..
We are currently working on becoming a non-profit organization but we
still can take donations of cages, bedding, food...on and on.
If you would like to help provide nutrition, medical, and shelter for the
